Navajo Horsehair Lizard

Navajo pottery has the most variety in etching and uses a variety of symbols such as mountains, arrows, plants, and animals; coupled with the unique use of horse hair. Their etchings are beautifully done and each symbol is a prayer to the Great Spirit. 

Horsehair frogs and lizards represent prayers for rain and the ever-present need for water. These horsehair critters are happy to adorn flat surfaces or hang on walls. This piece was made handmade and measures 14in long and about 6in wide.
